Arrests made on Iran’s fake plane tickets

Tehran, August 10: The main parties behind the issuance of 160 fake plane tickets for a Tehran-Damascus charter flight have been arrested, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization says.

“The main characters who sold the plane tickets were identified and arrested last night,” the spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Reza Jafarzadeh, told the IRIB on Sunday.

“The arrested persons have been delivered to the Judiciary,” the spokesman added.

According to Jafarzadeh, 160 Iranian passengers went to the Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) on Friday to travel to the Syrian capital and were surprised to find no such flight on the airport’s schedule.

“Travel agencies, which sell plane tickets without the Aviation Organization’s permit will be summoned to the Judiciary,” he concluded.
