Arrest warrants served against two aides of ex-cm

Ranchi, November 11: Arrest warrants were today served on two key aides of former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda for defying summons to appear before the Income Tax department in connection with the case of alleged money laundering against them.

“We have served the arrest warrants against Binod Sinha and Sanjay Choudhary and asked to the police to arrest them,” Additional Director (Investigation-IT), Ajit Srivastav, told newsmen here.

“We got information that Binod Sinha is in town. His lawyers approached us requesting permission to accompany Sinha during questioning. But that will be decided only after he appears before the IT,” he said.

Today was the second deadline given to them to appear before the IT after they ignored the first on November 6.

Sinha and Choudhary, along with Koda and others, are facing charges of money laundering and illegal investments of over Rs 2000 crore.
