Arrest culprits of Rajiv commemoration pole: VH

Describing the act of removal of Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Pole as an atrocious act by Telangana Jagruthi activists at Charminar, Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has demanded that the State government effect arrest of the culprits immediately after examining the CCTV footage.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee convener G Niranjan and former Union Minister Balaram Naik on Monday, VH said former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had taken up Sadbhavana Yatra to ensure that people of all religions live together harmoniously.

Alleging that Chief Minister KCR was extending full support to the Central government, which was trying to defame national leaders Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, VH demanded that the State government erect a Rajiv Gandhi statue at Charminar. It was atrocious on the part of the police to say that they don’t know who removed the pole at Charminar, he lamented.  He warned the State government that the Congress cadre would show its strength in case the government failed to arrest the culprits.

Niranjan asked the police whether they really don’t know who had removed Rajiv Gandi pole, which was located just opposite the police station. He alleged that the police, officials and Jagruthi activists were part of the mischievous act. Demanding that the police initiate action against Nizamabad MP and Jagruthi Chief K Kavitha, Niranjan asked the police to tell whether the MIM pole, which was also at Charminar, was not a hurdle to the police.

Stating that Kavitha might not have taken birth when Rajiv Gandhi took up Sadbhavana Yatra, Balaram Naik said it was not correct on the part of Jagruthi activists. Reminding the Chief Minister’s assurance that his government would provide 10 percent reservations to the tribals, Naik said whether the Centre responds positively or not on the proposal of the State government. He urged the government to render justice to tribal youth in the State government jobs. He also alleged that Peddapally MP Balka Suman was speaking immaturely and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was spreading lies that the Congress party was obstructing construction of projects, he said and suggested both the TRS leaders not to speak as they wished.
