Hundreds of activists belonging to various organizations staged dharna and took out a rally to lodge a protest demanding the government to arrest the culprits responsible for killing the Daliths in Lakshmipet. They also demanded the Government to provide financial relief to the victims and the injured persons. The rally was organized from Sundariah Park Lingampally to Indira Park. More than 50 organizations including the Telangana Praja Front participated in the Rally programme.
Mr. B. Tarakam, Advocate High Court, Mr. D. Prabhakar, President of Telangana Praja Front, Prof A. Bhoomaiah, Mr. M. Vaid Kumar, State Coordinator for Telangana Praja Front, Chairperson of Telangana Praja Front Ms. Vimala Akka and many activists of Praja Kala Mandali participated in these programmes. The speakers condemned in harsh words, the atrocities meted out to Daliths in Lakshmipet. They also demanded the Government to take precautionary measures of non-recurrence of such incidents in the future. A delegation met the collector of Hyderabad and presented a memorandum for giving compensation to the victims.
