All arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of Ganesh idols immersion in twin cities and Ranga Reddy district, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy has said. Talking to press persons here he said that Rs 7.17 cr allotted for the festivities and festivities will be culminating on Sept 15, Thursday to mark the 11-day long Ganesh Chaturthi.
The idols immersion was to take place from 6 am to 6 pm on that day and the civic officials are working in coordination with other departments for peaceful conduct of the mega event he said. Janardhan Reddy stated that 27 large size cranes are deployed at Tank Bund and 531 staff will attend the ritual of Ganesh idols immersion festivities. Special teams have been pressed into service to attend any emergency and put in place at action team one at 4 km distance and 200 volunteers work on shifts for the Ganesh idol immersion event he stated. Some personnel will be on the job of removing debris and garbage from time to time.
For security the police top press deployed as many as 25000 police personnel to guard the festivities while cc cameras were put up at every entry point and streets from where the Ganesh idols pass through for the mega immersion. (NSS)
