Arrangements were being made for the 11th Metropolis World Congress beginning from October 6.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, HMR Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad Jithender and DCP (Traffic), Cyberabad along with senior officials of R&B, GHMC inspected the main route connecting the venue.
The GHMC Commissioner said the purpose of the visit with all the HODs was to inspect and to know the progress of the road works on stretch of 125 kilometre length taken up on war footing for Metropolis event and the HMR officials have already been instructed to take up all necessary measures to ease the traffic congestions and also to complete the works on priority basis.
The Commissioner said that as on today 1750 delegates have been registered so far and still 250 odd are expecting to participate. In view o the world event efforts are being taken for beautification, special lighting and lifting of debris, removal of encroachments.
The Commissioner, GHMC inspected the ongoing works of Metro Rail works on Corridor-III and the improvement works of carriageway being taken up by R&B in the above route.
All the officials of the Departments concerned were instructed to maintain the surrounding roads approaching the location of the venue i.e., from Hitex Arch to HICC Convention Centre in a good condition; and
The Commissioner, GHMC has observed that the owner who is constructing the building in between Peddamma Temple to Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills dumped all the construction material on the footpath for which lot of convenience is being faced by the commuters keeping in view of the inconvenience to the public the Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner to impose the penalty of Rs. 1 lakh to the owner of the building. The Commissioner also directed the Engineering, Town Planning and Health wing officials to remove all the encroachments and also take up the cleaning program all along the route up to the Hi Tech City.
