New Delhi, March 12: The Lok Adalat organised by Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) today disposed of around 8,000 cases pending before various district courts here.
Organized in all the six district court complexes here, the Lok Adalats were presided by the subordinate judiciary judges, said DLSA in a statement.
Besides 7,900 long-pending cases of varied nature, 83 cases pertaining to accident claim tribunals were also disposed off with award of compensation of over Rs 1.50 crore.
In addition to the pending cases, 35 cases relating to various banks and financial institutions were also disposed of at pre-litigation stage.
Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice Dipak Misra also participated in Lok Adalats organised at Patiala House district court complex and supervised over judges settling a number of cases.
