Around 2000 SBI credit card holders duped – Here’s how fraudsters commit crime

New Delhi: In yet another cybercrime, around 2000 SBI credit card holders got duped. They were cheated to the extent of Rs. 5 crore.

According to the report published in Financial Express, 30 persons were arrested in this fraud case. They include 22 telecallers which are mostly women. They were arrested by the Cyberabad police in New Delhi.

Talking about the case, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner told that police started investigation after receiving complaint that some persons are cheating credit card holders. The fraudsters posed themselves as SBI Credit Card Division Staff and acquired the card details from the account holders.

He also said that the police arrested the kingpin of the crime, Vijay Kumar Sharma.

The accused persons were operating fake SBI credit card call center. They were cheating credit card holders by acquiring the details of the card including OTP, Mr. Sajjanar added.

The arrested persons were produced before the court in New Delhi. The court asked the telecallers to present themselves before the Station House Officer of Cyber Crimes Police Station on 23rd July.
