Hyderabad, September 21: Henceforth, Rajiv Arogyasri scheme would be limited only to those who possess white ration cards. Though the government initially toyed with the idea of allowing pink holders too to get treatment under the scheme, the proposal has now been shot down.
Briefing media persons on the decisions taken at the cabinet meeting here today, information and public relations minister J Geeta Reddy said that the cabinet had accepted the recommendations of the cabinet sub-committee on Rajiv Arogyasri. The minister said that the existing Arogyasri cards would continue to be in vogue till the Adhar cards ( unique identity cards) were issued.
The Cabinet ratified the decision to extend the ban on the CPI-ML-Maoist party and its six affiliate organisations, the minister said.
The administrative sanction to spend Rs 10 crore on the construction of 110 flats as part of a plan to construct 220 flats for legislators and council members in the MLA quarters was also given the nod, the minister said.
The Cabinet has okayed sanctioning of posts to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and forest department, she said and added that the Indian Coast Guard would be provided two acres of land at Rishikonda in Visakhapatnam district at a rate of Rs one crore per acre.
The chief minister directed his Cabinet colleagues to closely monitor the health situation in their respective districts and take steps to check spread of seasonal diseases.
“The state has received 38 per cent excess rainfall so far this season. While this is good for agriculture, roads suffered extensive damage across the state while seasonal diseases like viral fevers and dengue are also spreading. You all should monitor the situation in your respective districts and take necessary steps to mitigate the problems of people,” Rosaiah told his colleagues.
He also directed the medical and health department to work in close co-ordination with other departments like municipal administration, panchayat raj and rural water supply and sanitation and ensure that safe drinking water was supplied to all households.
Sanitation should also be properly maintained in urban and rural areas, he added. “The government has sanctioned Rs 137 crore for carrying out temporary repair of roads,” Geeta Reddy said.
The Chief Minister also directed ministers to closely monitor law and order situation in view of the impending verdict of the Allahabad High Court in the Babri Masjid case.
