It all started after Vistara Airlines tweeted a photo of Major General G.D. Bakshi and wrote, “Honored to have Major General G. D. Bakshi (Retd), a decorated Kargil war hero, onboard our flight today. Thank you Sir, for your service to the nation”. Soon after the tweet went viral, many netizens started criticizing the airlines.
Rifat Jawaid also tweeted, “I quite liked @airvistara but their love for this bigot shows that either they are ignorant or the airline condones Bakshi’s anti-Muslim stance. Will they honour Sadhvi Pragya next? No more flying with Vistara.”

Later, during the debate on the issue, Mr. Arnab Gowswami heavily criticized Mr. Rifat without taking his name. Mr. Gowswami also targeted Mr. Rifat’s news website.
Dear trolls. You cant come anywhere close to my respect for armed forces. Unlike you, I was all India best cadet, shortlisted for SSB and signed up to fight for India. Most of my pals are Lt Col and above in military. I don’t have to show my respect for army by supporting a bigot

It may be mentioned that in another tweet Mr. Rifat gave a befitting reply to the trolls. He tweeted, “Dear trolls. You cant come anywhere close to my respect for armed forces. Unlike you, I was all India best cadet, shortlisted for SSB and signed up to fight for India. Most of my pals are Lt Col and above in military. I don’t have to show my respect for army by supporting a bigot”.
