Srinagar: On Thursaday, Mohd Yousuf Bhat, aged 70 yrs, was killed in Army firing in Kupwara. He was a porter for the Indian Army since 30yrs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Two terrorist launched apparent suicide attack at the army camp. The Army had to open fire when public rebelled by pelting stones at the soldiers for not returning the dead bodies of the terrorists.
The firing killed one captain and three soldiers along with Mohd Yousuf Bhat.
His wife, Reshma Begum and children are completely devastated, questioning the army why did they kill him.
Reshma questions “My brother-in-law was in Army, his son is in the army. My own son is in the Army. My husband was also working in army as porter. Why did this happen to us”.
Bhat’s younger son, Tariq Ahmad says, “They shot him. I feel sad because my elder brother is working in JKLI (Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry) of Army for the last 15 years”.
Parveena, daughter of Bhat says, “A colonel had helped my brother to pursue education. Why we have to see this today”.
“We have filed an FIR and an investigation is on. There was stone pelting and troops opened fire,” Shamsher Hussain, a senior police officer, Kupwara, as reported in NDTV.
