Army clerk held on charges of spying for Pakistan

New Delhi: A 26-year old Indian Army clerk posted in an infantry battalion in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh was arrested on Thursday for allegedly supplying information to Pakistan.

The arrest was made in a joint operation by Intelligence Bureau (IB), Military Intelligence (MI) and Police.

The arrested is suspected to have been virtually honey-trapped by enemy intelligence agencies. It is believed that he came in contact with Pakistan-based woman who lured him, police said.

He later began supplying the woman with information regarding Army movements and exercises, police said adding a probe is on in the case.
