Islamabad [Pakistan]: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday discussed several important issues, including the Dawn Leaks, Kulbushan Jadhav and Pak-Afghan relations.
According to Geo News, sources revealed that in the meeting, which is said to have lasted for around an hour and a half, the controversy surrounding the Dawn Leaks’ notification came under discussion, among other issues.
Sources added that the Prime Minister Sharif was briefed on the latest situation regarding alleged Indian spy Jadhav’s case as well as the recent border issues with Afghanistan.
In latest development, India has successfully obtained a stay order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the execution of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav by Pakistan.
The army chief was accompanied by DG ISI Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar while Finance Minister Ishaq Dar along with Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan was also present at the meeting.
On the heels of the meeting, the Pakistan Army also issued a statement withdrawing its earlier tweet rejecting a notification from Prime Minister’s Office on the Dawn Leaks issue. (ANI)
