Army Captain goes missing from train on the way to Delhi

An Army captain posted in Jammu and Kashmir went missing while travelling by train from Katihar to New Delhi following which his relatives have registered a case of suspected abduction with the Railway police.

Captain Sikhardeep (24) was going to New Delhi from Katihar by Mahananda Express on February 6 and his family had talked to him on phone that night but he did not reach Delhi, Rail Superintendent Jitendra Mishra said, as per the FIR registered today with Katihar Rail police.

His father, Lt Col Anant Kumar, who is posted in Ranchi, suspected that Sikhardeep’s disappearance could be linked to some terrorist organisation, the Rail SP said, adding police was looking into all angles.

An FIR has been registered on the basis of statement of Sikhardeep’s brother-in-law, Jimmi Prakash, the SP said.

The SP said while his luggage was found intact in the train coach he was travelling in, Sikhardeep was nowhere to be found and his mobile was also switched off.
