Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) announced the election scheduled for Urban Local Bodies-2020 to be held on 22 January 2020 in Telangana. In Cyberabad Commissionerate limits, elections are being held for 12 Municipalities and 2 Corporations i.e., Tellapur, Narsingi, Manikonda, Amangal, Shadnagar, Shamshabad, Shankarpally, Bandlaguda Jagir, Nizampet, Thumkunta, Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Medchal, Dundigal. There are 726 polling stations and 197 polling locations in Cyberabad limits which has 726 polling stations, there are Normal-597 and Critical-129.
According to Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, Elaborate security, Law and Order and traffic arrangements have been planned to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of above elections. To meet the above bandobast requirement, it is planned to deploy 4,500 civil police and Armed Reserve Force.
Municipality and Enforcement work
Telangana State is identified by the Election Commission of India as one of the “Expenditure Sensitive State” and therefore as per the guidelines of Election commission of India, 20 Model Code of Conduct Teams, 26 Static Surveillance Teams (SST) and 26 Flying Squads (FS) have been formed under the charge of Executive Magistrate along with Police personnel to curb and prevent the flow of illegal money, liquor and other materials intended to influence the voters.
The Check-posts have been established to prevent illegal transportation of liquor, money, Arms and Ammunition, Explosives and objectionable materials. To have effective and visible policing, vehicle checking and frisking are organized in Cyberabad limits.
All the above teams will ensure implementations of MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT as per the guidelines of the ECI. As on 20-01-2020, (03) NBWs have been executed, out of (542) private arms, (380) weapons were deposited, (162) arms were exempted for the security personnel working at banks and other sport institutions, etc., and (208) persons were bound over in (36) cases for good behavior.
