Hyderabad, December 09: If one is bored of malls and the usual hang-out places like Eat-street and theatres, couples and youth have found new places where they can enjoy themselves, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and get some time alone with each other.
“We sometimes get tired of the pollution and the hordes of people constantly around us. So we hit the highway for a peaceful, nice drive,” says Ali Ahmed, a student.
While Ali and his friends prefer the calmness of the highway, there are some who prefer going to the outskirts of the city, where they can get their privacy and yet not be too far away. The Outer Ring Road also has a lot of dhabas, which attract the youth, who prefer good food that does not cost a bomb. “You get authentic Punjabi food in these dhabas and yet you do not end up burning a hole in the pocket. The place is also very peaceful and serene, so we prefer going there,” said Muju Patel, who goes to these dhabas with his group of friends.
Yet again, there are some youngsters who still prefer the parks that dot the city’s landscape and periphery of Hussainsagar, to spend time with their partners without any disturbance.
They believe that the parks and lakes provide a great backdrop for an uninterrupted tete-a-tete. There are some who prefer sitting in a cafe and chatting for hours together. During the two-day bandh, there were people who visited hospitals too, and sat in hospital cafes for hours, as they did not have any other place to go to.
“We went to Apollo hospital, Cafe Coffee Day, because we did not have any other place to go and we were getting bored at home,” says Manisha.
