The increasing power greediness among the Telangana Congress party leaders was making them forget the demand for separate Telangana State.
Several leaders including staunch supporters of Telangana movement like Suryapet MLA Ramreddy Damodar Reddy, who had once severely criticized the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, were side tracked from the path of separate Telangana movement. The leaders like Damodar Reddy concentrated on his son Sarvotham Reddy’s political career and hence he started praising the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. It was clearly witnessed in the program held during the opening ceremony of Suryapet Market Yard on Friday.
Damodar Reddy was trying to get the Bhongir MP seat for the sake of his son Sarvotham Reddy and hence he was maintaining silence quite for some time now. Unexpectedly he developed love towards the Chief Minister.
It may be recalled that the present MP of Bhongir constituency Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy was not interested to contest from the same constituency because he was afraid of defeat. Rajgopal Reddy put his eyes on Munugode constituency and was making efforts in that direction already. Rajgopal Reddy, who was also staunch supporter of the separate Telangana State movement suddenly stopped his active participation by abstaining from a protest program staged by the remaining Telangana Congress MPs in the Parliament budget session recently.
On the other hand, senior most leader and long standing Minister K Jana Reddy was also slowly distancing from the Telangana movement for the sake of his son. Jana Reddy was trying a ticket for his son from Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency. Jana Reddy was trying to contest from the Miryalgudem constituency. These leaders’ efforts for their sons political career was helping the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to suppress the Telangana movement easily and it was clearly witnessed during the Sadak Bandh program. Earlier, Jana Reddy used to force the government to see that the Telangana protagonists were not arrested.
Not only Damodar Reddy and Jana Reddy, but several other leaders were in same efforts, and hence they were changing their thoughts towards Telangana movement and were slowly distancing from it.
