APWB cracks whip on mutavallis, takes over Waqf institutions

In yet another significant move State Waqf Board has suspended mutavallis (caretakers) of various Waqf institutions. Waqf Board has decided to take over 4 Waqf properties of the state. Besides these 5 dealings of Koh-e-Imam-e-zamin land which was given on lease has been cancelled. Special officer Waqf Board Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal (IPS) briefed this during a press conference here.

The mutavalli of Mrs. Sharfuddin Charitable Trust Waqf (popularly known as Bandi Balaiah) at Chiragh Ali Lane compound has been suspended due to irregularities and violation of Waqf regulations.

Mr. Iqbal informed that Waqf Board has also taken over Moin Manzil Waqf at King Kothi which was sold on the basis of fake NOC of the Waqf Board. It has also taken over Sara-e-Jubilee (Triveni Lodge) located at Kachiguda as the tenure of the committee ended on May 25, 2007. There are many properties in Hyderabad under Anjuman-e-Islamia Kurnool; the institution has unlawfully sold Waqf properties located at Bahlol Khan Guda Sanjivareddy nagar. Waqf Board has suspended the mutavalli and has taken over the institution.

The lease of 5139.22 sqyd property under Sir Nizamat Jang Zeeenatunnisa Waqf (Anjuman Ilm-o-Amal) has expired. Waqf Board issued notice to its tenant Nishat S Baig and directed to hand over the property to Waqf Board.

The Waqf Board also suspended mutavalli of Dargah Hazrat Quader Lingayat Kotalam village Kurnool district who has been paying a fund of just Rs. 126 to the Waqf Board for past several years. The Waqf Board has also suspended mutavalli of Dargah Hazrat Shaikh Shah Vali and Hazrat Shah Vali, Kurnool for being unable to furnish the accounts and other details.

Waqf Board has also decided to take over Dargah Haji Vali which has not been recorded in the Waqf.
