APUWJ STATE MEET AT NELLORE FROM DEC. 26 to 28

Hyderabad, December 21: The 33rd State level meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists will be held in Nellore from December 26 to 28. About 345 members of the APUWJ State Council members, the Indian Journalists Union Council members, the presidents and secretaries of District Councils of the Union will be attending the meeting.

Mr Y Narendar Reddy, general secretary, APUWJ, stated in a media release that a symposium on “Media Dimensions—Challenges” would be held at Swarna Vedika Kalyana Mandapam, Nellore on Decmber 26 at 11 am. Dr N Bhaskar Rao, chairman, Centre for Media Studies, New Delhi, would be the main speaker. Besides, Prof. Hara Gopal, civil rights leader; Mr Potturi Venkateshwar Rao, senior Editor and former chairman, Andhra Pradesh Press Academy; Mr Jayaprakash Narayan, president, Lok Satta party; Mr I Venkateshwar Rao, Chief Editor, Maha TV; Mr K Ramachandra Murthy, Chief Editor, HMTV, Mr Eedpuganti Nageshwar Rao, Editor, Visalandhra, Mr K Srinivas Reddy, secretary-general, IJU; Mr Kakani Govardhan Reddy, ZPTC chairman, Potti Sriramulu Nellore district and Mr S Chandra Mohan Reddy, TDP leader, are the other guests who would speak on the occasion.

The Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy would inaugurate the State-level meeting on December 27 at 10.30 am. During the meeting, issues concerning the profession of journalism, working conditions of journalists and pay related issues would come up for discussion.

The Finance Minister, Mr Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, the Minister for Information and Public Relations, Ms D K Aruna, and the MLAs, Mr M Sridhar Krishna Reddy, and Mr Anam Vivekananda Reddy, would take part in the event.
