Stating that they have decided to introduce buses in 18 towns across the State, APSRTC managing director A K Khan has revealed that 730 new city buses will be introduced in several cities across the State under JNNURM phase-II scheme.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Khan said the corporation will be allotting 422 buses to Hyderabad region, 105 to Visakhapatnam, 90 to Vijayawada and 120 to Tirupati city. He said they were introducing 230 city buses in Guntur, Kadapa, Khammam, Anantapur, Mahbubnagar and Chittoor towns. He said the RTC has incurred Rs 745-crore loss due to Seemandhra movement. He said the corporation would announce the timings of plying of buses perfectly using GPS technology. (NSS)
