Hyderabad, October 07: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) will hold the re-examination for Group-I prelims on October 25. The re-examination will be held at three centres in Nampally here — the M.A.M Government Model Junior College for Girls, the M.A.M. Government Model Junior College for Girls (Urdu Medium) and the Indira Priyadarshini Government Degree College for Women.
In a special meeting held at the APPSC headquarters here today, the Commission said that the candidates who did not appear for the screening test on September 5 and made a representation to the Commission in this regard and those who were allotted earlier to the examination centre at the Institute of Advance Study in Education (Osmania B.Ed College) can appear for the re-examination.
The officials said that the candidates could produce the hall tickets issued to them earlier and appear for the examination scheduled to be held from 10.30 am to 1 pm. About 1,500 candidates are expected to appear in the re-examination. Candidates can also check the APPSC website ‘www.apspsc.gov.in’ for details of who can appear for the re-examination.
The Group-I exam for 198 posts of deputy collectors, commercial tax officers and deputy SPs got embroiled in a controversy after the Osmania University JAC (OUJAC) and the Telangana JAC demanded 42 per cent reservation in the posts for Telangana region. Though the screening test was held under tight security, the examination was disrupted by OU students and pro-Telangana activists at the OU BEd Ccollege. Later, authorities announced cancellation of the examination at the Centre. There were also requests from some candidates that they were unable to write the examination following violent protests held by separate Telangana supporters.
