Approach Censor Board to air objections: Chavan

Mumbai, January 11: Warning that no one will be allowed to take law into their hands, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today said those having objections over the title or content of a film should approach the Censor Board to air their grievances.

“People having any objections (on film title or content) should approach Censor Board. We will not allow anyone to take law into their hands,” Chavan told reporters this evening.

The Chief Minister’s statement came in the backdrop of a row over the title of Mahesh Manjrekar’s film “Shikshanchya Aiyacha Gho”. Some organisations like Maratha Mahasangh have also objected to the title saying that it is abusive. School Education Minister Balasaheb Thorat feels that the title may create a negative image of the education sector.
