Hyderabad: It is likely that the new Vice Chancellors will be appointed in ten state universities in Telangana. The officials of the Dept. of Higher Education and State Council of Higher Education seem to be busy in collecting the details of the prospective Vice-Chancellors to be submitted to CM of TS for approval.
Authentic sources indicated that the tenure of office of VC of Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda ended on 29th June. The tenures of offices of seven VCs in the State would come to an end in the last week of this month. The posts of Vice Chancellors in Shatavahana University, Kareem Nagar and Rajiv Gandhi Knowledge University, Basar are vacant. In addition these posts, the vacancy of Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University will fall vacant in January next year.
There are reports that after collecting the applications from the prospective candidates, a panel of three names will be submitted to the Govt. for selecting the final candidates for the post of VCs.
It may be mentioned that Governor of TS, Mr. ESL Narasimhan had convened a review meeting with the VCs on 1st July in which he had hinted that the next meeting would be held with the new VCs.
Secretary of the Dept. of Higher Education, Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy had assured that very soon appointments of new VCs would be made.
