Appointment of Urdu Medium Teachers in Schools essential

Andhra Pradesh Primary Teachers’ Association demanded the Govt. for the implementation of GO. Ms. No. 472 Dated: 4th July 1977 in connection with maintaining the proportion of Urdu Medium Teachers and Students in Schools.

If the Govt. does not implement the GO., mass protest would be launched and Court would be approached. Mr. Syed Shankar Ali President of AP Primary Teachers’ Association told that he had met the Principal Secretary of School Education and submitted a decade memorandum to him explaining the status of Ratio between the students and the teachers.

He told him that in Urdu Medium Schools if there are 10 students it is essential for the Govt. to appoint a teacher but the State Department of Education issued a new GO. Bearing No. 55 Dated: 23rd April 2011 in which no reference was given of GO. 472. This is in violation of the previous GO. Which makes 20 students compulsory for a teacher to be appointed.

Mr. Shoukat Ali further told in the name of rationalization Govt. is trying to reduced the number of vacancies in Urdu Medium Schools. The counseling schedule of transfers of teachers, which has been announced recently shows less number of vacancies in Urdu Medium Schools.

The Urdu Medium Teachers are being forced to submit their applications in counseling. In a school where 3 teachers are working and which doesn’t have 60 students 1 vacancy of the teacher is being showed as surplus and he is being transferred. In this way the number of vacancies of Urdu Medium Teachers is being reduced deliberately. He requested the Principal Secretary of School Education to implement GO. No. 472 so that justice could be done to Urdu Medium Teachers and the reduction of Urdu Medium Teachers’ vacancies could be eradicated.
