Hyderabad: Number of applications received for Hajj 2017 is on the rise. 3343 applications were submitted during the past 5 days. The applicants belong to Hyderabad itself while the number of applications received from other 30 districts will be known later.
The number of applications increased following centre’s decision to enhance Hajj quota of all states by 20 pc. Telangana Hajj Committee had to increase the number of counters set up for the guidance of Hajj aspirants.
Special Officer Hajj committee Prof. S A Shukoor told that 3343 applicants were submitted solely from Hyderabad so far, which include 103 applications of reserved category A and 679 applications of reserved category B; while there are 2561 fresh applications. On single day Hajj Committee received a record number of 829 applications.
