Apple’s MacBook Pro’s battery begins to wear-out which needs to be replaced after certain amount of charging cycles, but currently the 2012 and 2013 15-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display versions of Apple’s MacBook pros components including the battery, are not available with the company.
Apple offers free battery service to its customers having AppleCare+ warranty coverage and those who do not have the active warranty card are usually charged ‘out of warranty fee’ for its battery service.
According to Apple’s internal directive, the assemblies with batteries for these versions will remain severely constrained until 15 September, 2017.
Customers have been facing the shortage of these batteries for the past few months now.
As a temporary solution, Apple has decided to provide its customers with brand new Mac Book Pro’s with a policy applicable for only these versions and not 13-inch MacBook pros until the issues with the assemblies of the batteries or any other components are resolved.
