Apple boss takes sick leave

New York, January 17: Apple founder Steve Jobs is taking sick leave from his duties as chairman and chief executive officer of the computer and consumer electronics company, he announced Monday.

The move had been backed by the Apple’s board of directors. Jobs said he would not give up his title and would remain involved in the company’s major strategic decisions.

Jobs, who took a nearly six-month break to have a liver transplant in 2009, gave no reason for his leave or expected length of his absence.
