According to a press note issued by acting president of Iqbal Academy, Hyderabad, Mr. Mohammed Ziauddin Nayyar, Dr. Sir Mohammed Iqbal’s 130th birthday falls on 9th November 2012. He has issued an appeal to all the heads of educational institutions to celebrate Iqbal Day to commemorate this event. There is a need to tell the younger generation how Dr. Iqbal became a great poet and a social reformer?. What was the contribution of his parents in moulding his character?
The contribution of Dr. Iqbal in the Freedom Movement of India is very significant. He raised a voice against slavery and aroused the spirit.
It is our responsibility that we should introduce the life and works of Dr. Sir Mohammed Iqbal to the students.
Keeping in view the mental level of children, Iqbal Academy has published a book titled “Aao Iqbal say Milein” (Come and meet Iqbal) in a very simple language In addition to it, Basheer and Sarvar Babu Khan Trust has also published a book on Iqbal titled “Bachchoun Ka Iqbal” (Children’s Iqbal).
In order to popularize the understanding of Iqbal, help of these books could be sought.
