Hyderabad, January 12: In a notification issued by the office of Minority welfare department it was stated that a meeting was held at conference hall secretariat chaired by state finance minister to finalise the budget proposals of Minority Welfare department for the year 2012-13. Minority welfare minister Mohammad Ahmedullah attended the meeting with the other officials.
Minority welfare minister appealed the state government to allocate 1200 crore rupees for the development of minorities, proportionate to their population, atleast 1 percent of the state budget.
He asserted that due to stay order of high court the budget has not been allotted for repairs and caretaking of churches, waqf lands such as mosques, eidgahs, graveyards and darghas for the last 3 years.
He requested the state government to allot 8 crores for Urdu Ghar and function halls, 5 crores for electronic mapping of waqf properties, 1.5 crores for setting up of minorities Commissionerate, 13.20 crores as grant in aid for waqf board and 10 crore to provide facilities to the visitors of Barah Shaheed dargah Nellore.
