Appalling condition of govt. hospitals

Hyderabad, November 16: Generally poor and middle class people head for the government hospitals since they announce for free checkup and medicines. Listening to these announcements people with great hope head for those government hospitals but face a lot of difficulties there. Especially in government hospitals and dispensaries right from the 4th class employees to the superintendents of the hospitals don’t talk properly to the patients and their attendants.

The historical Osmania hospital was set up with the goal to provide free medical facilities to the poor citizens. But the behaviour of doctors, practicing doctors, medical staff, ward boy and watchman is regrettable. The hospital building which is also a historical heritage is deprived of the basic facilities and is victim of negligence of concerned departments.

It is the same story with Dabeerpura government dispensary which is visited by 200 or 250 patients daily. Though the patients are provided by free checkup service and free medicine but the so called talented and honest medical staff has created problems for the patients. The large number of burqa-clad women come to the dispensary for the treatment of their kids. But the faulty cleaning arrangements and dilapidated building is a question mark on the performance of state health department.

Same is the case with other government hospitals such as Hyderabad and Rangareddy TB hospital and Malakpet area hospital from where a newborn was kidnapped during the recent past.
