Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy has strongly condemned the allegations leveled against him by Congress leaders accusing him of taking commission to clear fee reimbursement dues to private colleges.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, Jagadish Reddy described the allegations leveled by Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar as completely baseless and far from truth. He demanded that Ponnam tender an unconditional apology. Else, he threatened that he would take legal action against the former MP.
Jagadish Reddy said that main opposition party Congress was unable to digest the successful functioning of TRS Government. For the same reason, Congress leaders have been spreading a negative propaganda against the government. He said the Congress leaders first criticised the government for not clearing the fee reimbursement. However, when the government decided to clear the dues in order to provide relief to the students, the Congress leaders are leveling baseless allegations.
The minister asked Ponnam to verify the facts before speaking about any issue. “If it was true that private colleges pay kickbacks to get their fee reimbursement dues cleared, then how much bribe was collected by the previous Congress regime? He asked. (INN)
