The first coronary angioplasty in India was performed by Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad on a 35 year old man suffering from blockage of blood.
A team of doctors led by Dr P C Rath, Sr. Interventional Cardiologist performed the first coronary angioplasty, using Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold (‘Absorb – BVS’).
