APNGOs asks SA ministers, MPs to resign

The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazettted Officers Association on Tuesday reiterated its demand that the Central ministers and MPs from Seemandhra region should resign from their posts.

Talking to reporters at APNGOs Bhavan here, Association president Ashok Babu said that all MPs and Union Ministers from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region should quit their posts. Else, he threatened that the APNGOs would hold protest before their residences. He said that some MPs have told the APNGOs that they have already submitted their resignations, but Speaker Meira Kumar was yet to accept them. He said in such cases, the MPs should vacate the official quarters in New Delhi and stop taking the official benefits and allowances. He said that MPs should stay in their constituency and restrain from visiting the national capital.

However, Ashok Babu clarified that protests would be held before the residences of MPs and Union Ministers who were yet to begin the process of resigning from their posts.

The APNGOs had already announced its protest schedule on Monday and they would hold peace rallies at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday. (INN)
