Vizianagaram, April 01: The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructural Corporation (APIIC) has issued notices to 140 small and marginal entrepreneurs for delay in setting up units in the lands allotted at Bobbili Growth Centre.
The corporation had allotted 876 acres of land for 321 units, which included B.K. Steels (244 acres), Manganese Ore India Limited (112 acres), a joint venture of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Vizag Profiles (80 acres), and Patil Rail Infrastructure (P) Limited (7.9 acres) anticipating an investment of Rs.11,000 crore.
District Manager of the corporation D.K.V. Subrahmanyam said on Thursday that since there was no response from the entrepreneurs, the corporation had cancelled lands allotted to Patil Rail Infrastructure and 45 other units.
Land acquisition
B.K. Steels and Vizag Profiles are awaiting clearances and MOIL is set to commence work in a couple of months as it has already invited global tenders.
Mr. Subrahmanyam said that proposals for acquisition of 1,000 acres of land each in Bhogapuram, Parvathipuram, Ramabhadrapuram, and Kothavalasa mandals for developing industrial parks were sent to the government. Already, land identification was completed in these mandals, he said.
An additional 1,600 acres of land, including 600 acres of D-patta land, was identified at the Bobbili Growth Centre, he said.
