APCPDCL official found with assets worth Rs three crore: ACB

Hyderabad, March 16: Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday said searches at the office and residences of an official of Central Power Distribution Company here have revealed that he possessed assets worth Rs 1.16 crore.

Market value of assets could be over Rs 3 crore, it said.

S Chittaranjan, an Assistant Divisional Engineer with the Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Ltd (APCPDCL), allegedly owns two flats in Hyderabad, 5 plots at Maheswaram, and 7.2 acres of agricultural land at Mahaboobabad Mandal of Warangal district.

The searches also unearthed Rs 10,75,000 in cash, gold ornaments worth about Rs 7,06,000, investments in Gangotri Developers of Rs 25,00,000, one Swift car, and fixed deposit receipts.

The total “recorded” value of assets possessed by the officer is about Rs 1,16,35,000. The market value of these assets would be more than Rs 3 crore, an ACB release said today.

Searches are in progress and the officer will be arrested and produced before Special Judge for ACB cases, Hyderabad, the release said.
