APCC urges EC to scrap recognition to TDP

APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy has alleged that the TDP government has failed in fulfilling the assurances made by it during the elections. He also displayed the TDP statements and assurances and it failed to implement them.

Demanding scrapping of recognition to the TDP, the APCC leaders met the Election Commission here on Tuesday and urged the EC to scrap the recognition to the TDP as it failed to fulfill its poll-eve assurances. He said the TDP released its election manifesto at the end of March last year after formation of the Telangana State.

Raghuveera reminded the Election Commission’s notice to TDP asking it whether it could fulfill the given 600 assurances. Responding to the notice, TDP addressed a letter after two days to the EC stating that TDP will take the responsibility of fulfillment the given assurances.

Stating that the TDP failed to fulfill the assurances now and it removed its election manifesto from its website, Raghuveera questioned the TDP leaders as to why they removed manifesto from its website. He said the TDP implemented a few assurances partially and not left touched the remaining assurances. He opined that the EC book a criminal case against TDP in case it failed to implement the assurances and scrap the recognition given to the TDP. He also said the people have belief on system and the government has the responsibility to see that the people do not lose belief on the system. It is not proper to the TDP to go in reverse gear on assurances, Raghuveera asserted. (NSS)
