APCC Secretary Raziuddin Ahmed has requested the Congress President Sonia Gandhi to expel Rajya Sabha member Dr KVP Ramachandra Rao from the primary membership of the Congress party and compel him to resign from the membership of Rajya Sabha as he stood out like a “rotten apple in the Congress party’s garden of Eden”.
In a letter addressed to the Congress President, copies of which were released to the media here Sunday, Ahmed drew her attention towards the fact that certain elements with vested interests like Dr. Ramachandra Rao are tarnishing the image of the party by getting themselves directly involved in various scams like the Titanium mining scam, money laundering etc., and have hoarded lakhs of crores by misusing their position and power, ‘thereby giving international and national media a stick to beat you up with’ and giving an impression to the opposition and the common public that the Congress is safeguarding the interest of such corrupt characters.
