AP is the topmost state in confiscating money during the election campaign. According to the reports issued by Chief Electoral Officer, from the date of release of election schedule more than sixteen crore rupees have been seized which was being transferred illegally during election campaign.
It is said that if weapons (mostly revolvers) are not deposited, police can seize more than 2004 weapons which are in possession of the public.
So far 20,640 persons have been warned. In addition to these, 525 non-bailable warrants were executed. Still there are 2645 warrants to be executed.
State excise department is also taking every possible steps for stopping illicit liquor production and distribution but wine is being sold on a large scale. So far 1,14,263 litres of liquor was confiscated and 7917 cases have been registered.
After registering the cases 2448 persons have been arrested. Under the instructions from Central Elections Commissioner strict instructions have been issued to district collectors and superintendents of police to be vigilant. 180 vehicles have been seized during the election campaign.
