Hyderabad, September 08: The State has emerged as the best State in the implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen VidyutikaranYojana (RGGVY).
The scheme, which ended on June 31, saw Andhra Pradesh cater to the maximum number of beneficiaries from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) strata.
Presently, there are no pending electrification projects that have been earmarked for BPL households, SC, ST, Weaker Section Colonies and Indiramma Colonies.
In a release, the State Government has urged the Centre to extend the RGGVY programme. This would enable taking up of more electrification projects as a welfare measure.
