The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyanjyothi Sen Gupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar on Monday said that the present High Court belongs to Telangana and there was no point in the TS government trying to relocate it at some other place.
They felt that it was for the AP government to identify the location for the new High Court and provide necessary infrastructural facilities.
Proposal to shift the TS High Court might even go against the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, they are said to have commented on a writ plea for separate High Courts for the states of Telangana and AP.
The case is listed for hearing on Thursday. D Srinivas, Additional Advocate-General of AP, said the AP government had already intimated that it is ready for the separate High Court. The bench asked both the states to file counter affidavits.
