Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to shift the State Secretariat in Vijayawada by June 2016.
The decision was taken on Saturday by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during the video-conference with District Collectors. The Chief Minister said that the construction of a new building, spread across 6 lakh sft, would be completed and by June next year, the State Secretariat could be shifted to the temporary capital of Vijayawada.
Naidu also reviewed the implementation of different welfare schemes in the State. He also issued necessary directions with regard to second phase of Janmabhoomi programme being launched in January. He said nearly 12.43 lakh people have applied for new ration card and all eligible persons should be issued the card. He also directed the officials to complete the road construction works in 90 days by setting a target of at least 5 KM per day. (INN)
