AP Science Congress From November 14 To 16

The fifth State Science Congress will be held at Nagarjuna University, Guntur from 14th to 16th November 2012.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday Dr.Mohan Rao, Director, CCMB and President State Academy of Sciences said that the State Science Congress is jointly organised by the Nagarjuna University and state Academy of Sciences. Governor ESL Narasimhan will inaugurate the Science Congress.

The focal theme of the congress is “Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics”. He said about 800 scientists, professionals and research scholars from different universities, National laboratories and industry will present their research contribution in different sessions. More than 500 scientific papers will be presented during three days. Apart from research papers submission five parallel sessions will deal with Physical, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, Chemical sciences including pharmacy and Health Science, Life Sciences including Agriculture sciences and Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Sciences.

Dr. B. Sesikeran, Director, NIN and Honorary secretary AP Academy of Sciences said special sessions will be conducted on contemporary themes like Health, Nutrition & behavioural sciences.
Dr.K.Viyyana Rao, Vice Chancellor, Acharya Nagarjuna University said, on the occasion of the National Mathematics year 2012, application of Mathematics in Science and Technology will be discussed.

Prof. K.Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University said that the congress will also focus on farmer-scientist meet and students-scientist meet to encourage school students to motivate interest on Science. He said the deliberations of the congress are expected to culminate in generation new and innovative ideas for even greater and more effective science and technology in the service of society.
Prof. R.R.L.Kantham, Registrar, Acharya Nagarjuna University and other Advisory Committee Members of the Science Congress attended the press conference.
