Andhra Pradesh is racing to become the first state in the country to roll out Aadhaar- based services.
The Centre has informed the state authorities that five districts — Hyderabad, Chittoor, East Godavari, Ranga Reddy and Anantapur — have been identified for initiating certain Government schemes based on Aadhaar (unique identification number) on a pilot basis.
Andhra Pradesh has achieved an enrolment of 5.20 crore people, accounting for 26 per cent of the country-wide enrolment figure.
