AP: Railway employee brutally murders brother-in-law

Vijayawada: In a shocking incident a Railway employee brutally stabbed and murdered his brother-in-law on Monday.

The incident is reported to have occurred at Railway Training Institute in Satyanarayanapuram area in the city.

The deceased is identified as Chadavada Raju (28) was a railway gateman at Rajahmundry and was in the city to complete his training at the Railway Institute.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (L&O-II) In-charge Nawaab Jaan said the deceased hailed from Nidadavolu town in West Godavari District.

The accused Kandepalli Shekhar (30), who is also a grade – I railway employee in Vijayawada approached him at the Institute on his bike and stabbed him multiple times and fled the premises.

Though Raju was rushed to Vijayawada Government General Hospital (GGH), he could not be saved.

According to the Police, the accused married his elder sister Jyothsna four years ago and was allegedly harassing her.

Unable to stand the harassment Jyothsna left his house and went to her mother’s place seven months ago as she was pregnant but remained there even after she gave birth to a daughter three months ago.

When Raju refused to send his sister back, Shekhar took the extreme step and killed Raju.

Before murdering Raju, Shekhar also called his wife and informed her about his plans and told her he is coming to take her life now.

The SN Puram Police registered case against Shekhar under section 302 of IPC.
Raju’s body was sent for post-mortem.
