AP prepares action plan to ensure 24-hr power supply

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today said his government has prepared an action plan to ensure 24 hours power supply for domestic and industrial sectors.
Speaking after a review meeting on electricity and red sandalwood, Naidu said a delegation from Union Power Ministry would soon visit the State to study the demand and production of electricity. The government would also submit a detailed report on the need of electricity to the Centre, he added.
The Chief Minister said during the previous Congress government red sandalwood was smuggled unabated and there was a need to curb its smuggling. He also directed Principal Secretary of Forest department to evolve a comprehensive policy to protect this natural resource and prevent smuggling of red sandalwood.
Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Education Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao, Girijan Welfare Minister Ravela Kishorebabu, government advisor Kutumba Rao and others attended the review meeting. (NSS)
