Hyderabad, March 26: Police in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh today arrested two persons and seized 600 electric detonators from them.
Police initially nabbed one Raju while he tried to flee during a routine vehicle checking last evening and recovered 300 electric detonators from him.
Based on Raju’s confession, police raided a place in Anantapur town and apprehended another accused V Sina and seized 300 more electric detonators, they said.
The duo was in illegal possession of the explosive material, Kalyanadurg Police Sub-Inspector B Lakshmanna told PTI adding the duo maintained that explosives were meant for use in a quarry.
The duo was today sent in judicial remand, the police officer added.
