Hyderabad, May 28: An inquiry has been ordered into the Mahbubabad violence in which nine persons were injured in firing following a group clash between pro-Telangana activists and followers of Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today, Andhra Pradesh DGP said.

“A detailed inquiry has been ordered into Mahbubabad violence. We are appointing a senior official as the Investigating Officer to conduct the inquiry,” Director General of Police R R Girish Kumar told a press conference here this evening.

He said no one was killed in the firing by gunmen provided to an MLA and a former Minister. “We also thought that way based on initial reports. The youth, in fact, fell unconscious. It was presumed initially that he died but he has survived, though his condition is critical. A team of specialists (doctors) are attending on him,” Kumar clarified.
