Guntur: Based on a complaint filed by a software engineer working in America, AP Police has arrested a woman who cheated NRIs on the pretext of marriage.
The accused identified as Deepti was arrested from Bradipet after a complaint against her was filed with the Police in Guntur.
The accused created fake accounts on many matrimonial websites and lured them to shell out money on the pretext of marriage said the Police. She also took Rs 1.60 lakh from Dharani Kumar, Us based software engineer.
The Police added several cases are pending in various states against Deepti for luring NRIs on the pretext of marriage, Hans reported.
