With Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu regularly reviewing the arrangements being made for ensuing Krishna Pushkarams, the AP Govt has decided to make the event a grand success by providing all facilities and amenities to the pilgrims.
With crores of pilgrims expected to throng various ghats of Krishna river to take the holy dip, the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh is constituting a special task force to continuously monitor the gigantic program of extending uninterrupted power supply and retrofitting of ordinary street lights with Energy Efficient LED street lights for enhanced illumination levels, particularly in three major districts of Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool which are on the banks of Krishna River.
Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu/ ho as been rviewing the arrangements periodically has been very particular about making Krishna pushkarams a grand success and a historic event in the country, exhorted the need for Energy and MA&UD depts to complete the entire LED street lighting program in these three districts by all means, by the end of July 2016, along with CCMS (i.e., Centralized Control & Monitoring System). Apart from this, the Energy Dept should initiate stringent steps to maintain 24×7 power supply with highest quality and reliability, to avoid any inconvenience to the general public attending the Pushkarams, directed the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Ajay Jain has instructed the power sector officials that the proposed task force comprising
Top officials of Energy Dept, MA&UD Dept (Municipal Administration and Urban Development), M/s. EESL (Energy Efficiency & Services Ltd) and the above three districts administration will ensure the prompt completion of the following.
Complete the infrastructure related to power sector in all Pushkar Ghats for ensuring 24X7 quality power supply with utmost safety to the pilgrims.
Completion of LED street lighting project in all the ULBs of these three districts by 31st July 2016.
Adopting the technology from advanced countries for establishment of CCMS with IT enabled Google Tagged Controls for remote switching ON / OFF street lights, measuring consumption and monitoring of faults, Status & Alerts etc and assessing the Energy Savings through LED street lights and CCMS.
Real time monitoring of power supply position using latest technology, in the Ghats and in the Streets to take immediate actions in case of any momentary interruptions so as not to cause any kind of inconvenience to the pilgrims.
- Dora, CMD/APSPDCL has informed the Principal. Secretary, Energy I&I that APSPDCL is investing around Rs 85 Crs for refurbishment of power distribution infrastructure in 159 identified Ghats in three districts for arranging uninterrupted power supply. (NSS)
