Irrigation projects in Telangana do not require permissions of Andhra leaders, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has said.
Talking to mediapersons in Medak district on Sunday, Harish Rao said the Palamur-Ranga Reddy, Dindi and other projects have been launched during united Andhra Pradesh State government. Now the TRS Government will complete them on a war-footing, he remarked. “To complete these old projects, we do not need permission of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, APCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy and YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Harish Rao fumed.
Harish Rao expressed displeasure at the Andhra leaders for making a hue and cry only for political gains. “The Telangana Telugu Desam leaders in Mahanadu were seen clapping when their Andhra masters were talking against our State. However, our people will stone them away for coming in the way of our State’s development. The Telangana TDP leaders are talking shamelessly against the development and supporting blindly the Chandrababu Naidu Government”, he charged.
Recalling that the Palamur and Kaleshwaram projects were started by the previous Andhra Pradesh government before bifurcation of the united State, Harish Rao sought to know whether Chandrababu Naidu took permissions for Handrineeva, Potireddypadu and Pattiseema projects. Driving the point straight, Harish Rao said when the AP leaders talk about their interests, we will safeguard ours and draw rightful share of waters from projects and rivers”, the minister said.
Chandrababu Naidu was making deliberate attempts to stall the works related to raising height of RDS which has all permissions, he charged. “Our people would teach them a lesson for obstructing the works of our irrigation projects”, he warned. The AP leaders should abstain from causing hurdles else will face public wrath, he added. (NSS)
